Illyana Rasputina, also known as Magik, is a powerful mutant sorceress in the Marvel Universe. She first appeared in *Giant-Size X-Men* #1 (May 1975) as a child, but her adult, sorceress persona debuted in *Uncanny X-Men* #160 (August 1982).
The "Marvel Now" era featured a distinct take on Magik. After being rescued from Limbo, she struggled to control her powers and her demonic side. She joined Cyclops's team of X-Men, comprised of mutants who felt alienated from the rest of mutant society.
Magik's mutant ability is teleportation, but it's tied to Limbo, a hellish dimension she rules.
